Log into Channel 9 and get all manner of warnings about the cert for

*.majornelson.com is invalid

I reject and the site seems to come up but everywhere I go on site the same thing happens

What Gives? anyone know?

MajorNelson is the public face of the Xbox 360 department. He's some big-wig behind the Xbox and blogs about how great it is.

Transparency is improving, but at times it feels contrived.

Anyway, check your certificate store for the CA for MajorNelson.com. Are you using IE or FF?
It's one of the icons on the bar at the top of the page (the community bar).
It's weird, though:  the only reference I see to MajorNelson.com is the favicon for the communities bar, and it's being delivered over regular HTTP, so that shouldn't be giving you a certificate error.  If I visit https://www.majornelson.com/, I don't get a certificate error either.

How do we block the community bar? I remember seeing a post about blocking it by editing the hosts file...they said C9 loads a lot faster.

Or just use adBlock.

You'll want to block the wildcard: "*mscommunities.*js"

Dang, thanks for the fast reply W3bbo. I will try out this adblock plugin. Thank you.

AdBlock Plus is more popular than the original vanilla AdBlock, but I prefer the original as it's simpler and more lightweight.
What gives? im getting the same thing. every time i come to the site i get something having to do with the certifiablilty of the site.

warning sais:

Website certified by an unknown authority. Unable to verify the identity of *.majornelson.com as a trusted site.

But im trying to visit channel 9 not majornelsons site. how do i stop this from accuring each time i visite channel 9? thanks.

Edit: fixed on my end.
