Holly crap! Wondered what the hell that was.  Discounted an earthquake at first, this is england afterall!

Felt it just outside of Bedford.

I'm surprised too. I lived in SoCal for about 10 years and felt them all the time. Some good ones too.

aim stupidly high, expect to fail often.
Slept soundly down here in Bristol, although a colleague who lives in Gloucestershire complained that it woke them up.

I remember the last 'quake I experienced back at Uni. That one shook Melton Mowbray, but was nowhere near as big as the recent one. (The radio claimed 5.2 on the Richter scale for the one last night.)
