OK so BBC saying tremor in West Midlands more soon but I'm in East Midlands near J19 of M1 and my wife (and mother in law were woken in York. So must have been quite strong...

Holly crap! Wondered what the hell that was. Discounted an earthquake at first, this is england afterall!

I'm surprised too. I lived in SoCal for about 10 years and felt them all the time. Some good ones too.

I woke up this morning from a sudden jolt, but I thought it was just a bad dream ! Well now I know what it was !

Well Blowdart the Earth certainly moved... Ive felt an earthquake before in Greece one time but this was much stronger. Aparently its a one in 25 year event for the UK. I used to live right next to a train line and it reminded me of that.

aim stupidly high, expect to fail often.

Slept soundly down here in Bristol, although a colleague who lives in Gloucestershire complained that it woke them up.

I remember the last 'quake I experienced back at Uni. That one shook Melton Mowbray, but was nowhere near as big as the recent one. (The radio claimed 5.2 on the Richter scale for the one last night.)
