I CAN has cheezburger and you CAN'T has stop me!
Does anyone know if this is supported?

I used to be able to access school documents at home via RM EasyLink and webfolders but now instead of the webfolders interface I get the same interface as IE gives you when browsing FTP sites.

I always struggled getting IE >= 7 to show the webfolders when following the link on the front of RM EasyLink. I've just set it up as a web folder in explorer by using the "Map Network Drive" dialog and following the "connect to a website" link.

Aren't RM EasyLink/WebFolders just a simple HTTP frontend for a DFS filesystem?

IE should render WebDAV-published directories with the same interface as FTP sites.

WebDAV folders are handled by the shell, not IE.  Open an Explorer window and open the URL there.  This is the same as checking the "Open as Web Folder" box in IE's Open dialog.

Well, if it works from the Windows Explorer it could solve the problem for someone but not in all scenarios. We use the web folder view for a WebDAV URL in an iframe on HTML pages. It works in IE6 and IE7 but in IE8 not anymore. Installing the http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907306 which adds the support to Windows does not help. Googling about this issue reveals that more people experience the problem after upgrading to the final IE8.

I am afraid that until it is fixed or at least explained, the IE8 is a no-no for us and our customers.

The certificate cn must match the server name

/N

Do you mean the server certificate to make HTTPS working? I would like to get it working over HTTP, at first. There are no certificates necessary for WebDAV over HTTP, AFAIK.

The IE8 is out a couple of months but the IE7 still remains the latest recommended Microsoft 's web browser...
