Need Microsoft SUX now!

I think it would be cool if Visual Studio editor in a lightweight format (so augmentation of the Visual Studio Shell) launch automagically when you do view source in IE8. Thus its time for Microsoft to replace Notepad:) as an update.

I think this would be awesome for the not so technically to pull up html or xml and it look approachable.

There are lots of text editor replacements used with VS but I'm hooked on editpad.
You can easily make changes to the code templates.

Highlighting, regular expressions, schemes, edit blocks, etc.

You should be able to change the default editor for viewing the source in the Internet Options dialog.

No, you can't.  You can change the default HTML editor (this defaults to Word on my system, but it defaults to Notepad on systems without Word installed), but you can't change the default editor for viewing the source.

Ow I see. But you can just put that edit button on the toolbar, select your favourite application and the result will be the same.
In IE7, if you install the IE7Pro plugin it has a feature where you can associate view source with the editor of your choice, e.g., Notepad++. However, the plugin may not work with IE8 yet.
