Adobe Joins Linux Foundation

“Adobe delivers key RIA technologies for Linux users, such as Adobe® Flash® Player and now Adobe AIR™, to deploy RIAs in the browser and on the desktop,” said David McAllister, director of standards and open source at Adobe. “The Linux Foundation is a valuable resource, providing a forum where we can work with the community to ensure Adobe RIA technologies are compatible across the Linux software platform.”

Unless Moonlight is licensed for Linux....I see AIR > Silverlight being a common statement.
It's posted on 30th... 2 days earlier. So apparently it's not.

But as they're delivering Flash player and AIR for Linux, joining LF is a welcomed move.

EDIT: As moonlight is not developed by Microsoft, I don't think it makes difference in comparison.
Makes a lot of sense. With Microsoft moving into the design tools arena, Adobe should be doing everything they can to level the OS playing field.

It makes sense: - graphics and code are "merging" and both companies are moving into the market of the other. Adobe can use a Linux pressence to gain some advantage in that space, potentially.
