Seven of Niner! Resistance is Futile!
this post is a follow-up of all I want for dinner is a multifunction printer and honey, I shrunk the printer

after days of web searches, after several gallons of ink thrown against epson, canon and hp support employees I think I've found it.

flatbed scanner with ADF (can load up to 50 sheets of paper all by itself) and both twain and WIA drivers
35ppm black print speed
34ppm color print speed
duplex printing accessory included
memory card reader
ethernet, usb2, pictbridge connections
replaceable printer heads
fast color/bw fax with distinctive ring detection that can store up to 125 pages in memory
big officejet cartridges that can print up to 850 pages (10$ each) and supports xl cartridges (20$ each) that can print up to 2500 pages in bw and 1600 in color. the producer claims that the cost per page is 50% less than a laser printer.
can print photos directly from your camera and memory cards and fix them too

its price is 300$ but you can find it for 150-200$ after rebates

it's the.....

fantastic.....

HP officejet L7590!

it was reviewed by trusted reviews and the review seems quite positive

all we need now is somebody to buy that printer and tell us if it's good or not Tongue Out

Have you seen the prices on some of these old Dot matrix printers?
Some of them are almost $2000 now because they are still needed.
Multi page contract transfer paper for example.

I recently got a few from CDW for a large construction company here, could not believe the prices.

Does anyone know if this thing has wireless?

Can I get it in green?

I like my printer better, uses less ink and paper.

1) Right-click file > Send to Bluetooth > TabletPC
2) Right-click file on TabletPC > Print to OneNote
3) Open OneNote, file is in there in a new note.

Cool
found it at staples - its $299 here

"System Requirements: Windows 2000; Windows XP Home; Windows XP Professional; Windows XP Professional x64; Windows Vista(R); Mac OS X v 10.3.9 or higher; With Windows Vista(R), some features may not be available."

edit: YOTLD - do you know if it does borderless printing (no margins?)

Wireless?
not sure.

it does do borderless printing - and double sided

plus my old scanner doesnt work (drivers)

very tempting  ..gonna talk to tory about it

printing on both sides is the main draw for me - plus bigger cartridges - so i still like the hp you picked over canon

I don't know... inkjet? I always tought laser printers are cheaper to mainten

yes if you have an office and print lot of paper. but this printer for home is perfect because it's very cheap, cheaper than other home printers like the hp c7280 and has very large and cheap cartridges too.

update 2: it looks the l7590 specs were wrong. the ADF of this printer, like the ADF on latest canon PIXMAs can also scan both sides of each page! now there are virtually no reasons to chose a canon but the better (or not?) photo quality.

Looks like a good one.  If drivers are good, sounds like a winner.

I just bought a Canon Pixma MX310. Scanning works nicely, I still have to test the ADF with multiple docs, printing is fast but it looks always in draft mode.

Pressing the Copy/Fax or Scan big buttons doesn't actually do anything but beep at me. Maybe I should take a look at the manual, but I refuse in principle to install any additional software on my machine; Vista found all the drivers, that should be enough.

This is my first multifunction printer and only my second one overall, I'm not very experienced, as I was always able to live without printing. And an ADF scanner is very expensive, so Pixma it is.

More to follow... Smiley

I have a Pixma MP160.  Some cheapy that came with a computer I bought year ago.  I thought I would never use it.  Turns out, it has been most reliable inkjet printer I have owned.  The HPs and Epsons always seemed to gum up after lags in usage and never work right even after ink change.  This thing just works.  Anyone tried those Kodaks with the new ink that was pushed on the Apprentice some months ago?  Last time I saw Ads from them.
