Now why would we want to do that?

Because I'd hate it if this sort of thing chased away the people that actually have something interesting to say.

As far as i know they say people on that site "Vista is bad - don't use it". FSF is Free Software Foundation. Or not?
At the very beginning of everything normal people know today about computers the many students at versities thought that software has to be free. Bill Gates thought it is ok to sell software for money. Don't know so exactly about FSF itself, but GNU was founded AFAIK by Richard Stallman and others.

See? You know next to nothing about the badvista campaign or what the FSF does, yet you post a picture and a link to it as if it's going to prove your point. That sets off a bunch of "this guy has no idea what he's talking about and is just some kid trying to be a rebel" alarm bells in people's head, which causes them to mark your post as spam.

Badvista is FSF-run operation that tries to badmouth Vista. And FSF is cover organisation deeply connected with GNU and its mastermind - Stallman. Compared to the content on this site Apple's site look totally innocent. You would think organization of this size that tries to act as mother to all open source movement has some some standards, but they don't, they rely on cheap smearing of their competitors.
You might wonder why there's all this harmony in user comments section, why everybody agrees with each other - FSF is censuring comments. I tried twice, I posted two comments, and I was extra careful comment were not flammable but they were both deleted in minutes.

FSF, slashdot and similar consist of primarily two kinds of people:
douches that have too low standards and don't mind posting straight lies and douches that believe them. The only problem is people that know don't fight for truth as they are overwhelmed by the other side. Besides debating with foss zealots is usually ridiculous.

I'm surprised that what's on that site isn't considered libel.  It blatantly misrepresents the facts about a competitors product (in this case, Vista).

What bothers me more though is that some people actually think it's real.

Hypocricy much? The FSF may censor some comments but then so did Channel9. No party is amazing, contrary to popular belief, neither the FSF or Microsoft have light shining from their anus'.

Actually before spam function, which is /user controlled/, there was no censure on Channel 9. It's crowd bullying, not MS. So yes, in that respect light is actually shining from C9's cyber-anus.

Also, to C9 admins: afaik spam feature was implemented to control commercial spam, not to stop controversial posts.

I want all Weird's posts back (if only) so that I can continue pointing fingers at FSF. Troll's right to make trolling posts however ridiculous or disrespectful they might be shall not be infringed. I want old C9 back, with tolerance to Corona-type nuts!!

This isn't about censoring comments.  Censoring comments on a private forum is one thing, and perfectly legitimate / legal.  It might not be the best public relations decision, but that's another issue entirely.

Libel is an entirely different matter.  Basically that would be like Microsoft putting up a website that said "Ubuntu 8.04 is full of spyware that will sell all your personal information to Google, MySpace, and other advertising companies.  All this spyware makes it slower than past versions and gives it higher hardware requirements.  Ubuntu says they're because of XGL and other new technology, but really it's just all the spyware.  And evil DRM.  That will delete your mp3s.  Also, its screensavers cause seizures that kill small children.  Ubuntu kills children.  If you buy it, you support killing children."

Clearly, that wouldn't go over too well.  And yet the FSF gets away with doing the exact same thing.  So who is the hypocrite?

Cover organisation?  FSF is GNU (or, to be more specific, the not-for-profit responisble for the maintenance of the GNU project, among other things).  Stallman's the FSF president and the founder of the GNU project.

Sure, I don't agree with most of what Stallman and the FSF espouse, but calling it a "cover organisation" for the GNU makes this all sound a lot more conspiratorial and evil than it is.  It's just a bunch of people with a different vision of how the software industry should work than Microsoft has.

Breaking news:  it's not Safari's fault, it's bad browser detection code on C9's end.
