The header is kinda weird looking, as if it wasn't finished or something.

Anyway I'm not going to complain without trying to contribute something, so here's my take at a simple header:

EDIT: Added a live demo of what it would look like. Feel free to take source code or images or whatever else you want.
...Hopefully this link continues to work. It is up on SkyDrive.

It finds lightbulbs.
I like that. It makes C9 look like Media Center, or the Zune software. I'd make the Sign In button smaller, though.

I suppose it was inevitable that if I went away for long enough everything would change, but still...

Thanks. I'm not a professional designer or anything, just thought I'd give it a go.
I'm sure Jamie or another niner could do a much better job.
