Two Sides to Everything
Just came across a very nice piece of technology

Checkout
http://www.techcrunch.com/2008/06/11/camspace-creates-a-wii-for-everyone-minus-the-nintendo-console/

and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0srY37kkMw

The fully software based technology turns any item into controller for a PC with standard web-cam.

From my perspective it has huge potential for making interactions with computer easier especially in developed countries.

Lots of wii style innovation... have you seen Johnny Chung Lee's VR App using a wii in reverse?

I'm sure it tracks X/Y very well but I can't see it being particularly accuarate on Z. It also depends a lot more on light conditions and the angle of the object unlike the Wii controller's solution which tracks Z better and you can use in a pitch black room.

Its a cute use of the technology but nothing that hasn't been around at least five or more years.

This is very cool in my opinion (just linked to this post from the homepage)...as for buying it, that always depends on the price Smiley

Not to derail the entire thread, but I wonder how a comittment to "always free" affects their chances of acquisition.
