They didn't fix the seemingly random behaviour of explorer view type that was seen year before release of Vista.

If MS
1)fixed that
2)made "Favorite Links" use space more efficiently when wide rather than just hide the links under "More >>",
3)added a way to run some random native exe so that everything it does can be rolled back if it turns out to be something nasty.. (I use a VM for this now but starting it up takes a while and some memory too),
4)developed the UI controls in for example the config dialog for setting up environment variables such as the very long PATH variable to show both the path as single line and as multiple line split with the ; separator
5)included powershell

then I would have said SP1 was a perfect minor update (like SP2 for xp). Now it was just collection of fixes you mostly already had.

All the fuss about the "copy perf".. Sure there was issues with network copies at one point but the perf of local copy is just illusion as the hdd light keeps on going after the copy dialog is gone.

Human after all
Dunno, I've run Vista on 6 unique systems since it was in beta.. and it was one of the noticable things for me, slow as shutting down.. I didn't really care- it was just a behavior I had noted.
