I love this. Especially the last line:

"I'm making stuff up and putting it on the Internet and you can't do s**t about that."

So, where are the Channel 9 video bloggers?

More?

Scooby,

Calling it 'Video Blogging is a tad naff, It needs a cool name of it's own to kick it into gear and give the medium a following.

So how about ...

movlogs, movcasting or avee's (after the avi format)

I'm sure we can come up with some more, how about the the best can go for a poll and we can vote on it!!!!!!

Cool idea??????

Maybe I spend too long thinking about home improvement, but my first thought watching it was - that guy has really cheap looking doors in his place.

OK, my real first thought was - use a tripod for gods sake. Followed by - and don't use such a wide-angle lens, it makes your nose look big.

Obviously I "just don't get" video blogging Smiley

There is something genuine about a video, people can look into your “eyes” and get to “know” you. On the Internet nobody knows if you’re a dog or not, on video we will see if you have a tail.

humm will have to try this out once i get a cool
webcam..

On a scale of 1 to 10, people are stupid.
Does it bother anyone that when Quicktime tries, yet again, to add itself to the startup processes, Microsoft AntiSpyware allows it and tells you it is safe?

I've looked and can't seem to find a way to tell MS Antispyware that this is NOT safe Smiley

I really wish Apple would stick to what they are good at doing...like multi-color plastic moldings.

Harsh, but fair.

Quicktime player really is the spawn of satan. I noticed the other day that they've hidden the Quicktime player download in an attempt to get people to download and install iTunes. Yes, I fell for it. Just as I was uninstalling iTunes (which leaves QT on its own) I noticed the link to a page where you can download the player on its own.

It's too bad WMP can't read mov files. Realplayer thinks it can but it crashes frequently trying.
Don't forget about my buddy Vogner.  He's one of the original Video Bloggers. although not very active lately.

I saw a thing somwhere once called RealAlternative and a companion for .mov. Only worked on legacy players, though Sad

Interestingly "this" software received best of comdex in 2001.
(Uses a Direct3D UI for smooth sub pixel position, and HW accelerated FX and video compositing)

Video blogging, "back to the future" Smiley

It never pays to be so ahead of your time...

Hey, I'm part of the Yahoo videoblogging group that is putting a lot of energy into helping each other develop better tools, skills, and content for videoblogging, or vlogging, as some call it.

1)Here's some of my favorite vlogs contentwise: http://www.rocketboom.com/vlog/ New content every weekday morning. Humorous/weird/geeky news cast from NYC with the lovely and funny Amanda Congdon.

http://ryanedit.blogspot.com/ I particularly like these vids of hers

http://movies04.archive.org/2/movies/ryannehodsonDeptofEdvsBustertheBunny/dept.of.ed.vs.buster.mov
http://blogumentary.typepad.com/ryan/files/digital.bonnie.clyde.mov This shows two of the principals in the the vlog world hashing out ideas as they speed toward the TED conference in Monterrey, CA where they are going to present a video content RSS aggregator.

http://stevegarfield.blogs.com/videoblog/ Steve is a very low key, friendly, video journalist in Boston who is helping drive the vlogging revolution with his clips from the Democratic National Convention and inside his kitchen.

And my own site, http://www.jonnygoldstein.com/ which has humorous video clips. My fave I so far which incorporates the Christo Gates installation in Central Park, a conversation in a cuban diner, and a ten dollar toy guitar: http://www.jonnygoldstein.com/2005/02/14/success_can_be_yours.php These are just a few people out there...

Take a look at http://videoblogging.info/ for list of more folks, each taking it in their own direction.

Tools: meefeedia.com----allows you to subscribe to and watch video feeds via rss in this web based tool. ANT's not television: This is a client you can download that let's you subscribe to video feeds as above, with the difference that it actually saves the video files on your computer. Very slick interface. Right now just for Mac OSX but they are coming out with a Windows version soon.

http://www.antnottv.org/ There are other tools out there, but the above one are what I use. Skills and resources: A tutorial about how to make your own free vlog (of course you need broadband, video editing software, and a camera, which aren't free:)

http://www.videoblogging.info/archives/how-to-create-a-free-video-blog/ How to videoblog on Windows:

http://www.videoblogging.info/archives/how-to-win/ OK, if you have read this far, you must be really obsessed. Maybe you should start your own!

Vlogulaciously,

Jonny Goldstein http://www.jonnygoldstein.com/
Why are so many on this thread afraid to use the term Vlogging?

Are you waiting for Sony to pay big $$$ so you can then call it sonycasting?

There are many who think Apple paid to get the term podcasting used over and over, maybe someday the truth will come out.

I just got an email about Ellie Drake's and Mike Filsaime's Free Report called - "The Death of NetworkMarketing"

I will admit, like you may also be feeling now, that I thought it was some hyped up offer to get me to buy something...

...Turns out I was wrong. Way wrong.

The bottom line is, this report really opened my eyes that  Network Marketing may be dying.

When I read this, I immediately thought of sharing it on my blog

The times are changing for us and it would be a shame for you or anyone to not read this report and fail like many will.

I read it, and I wanted to share it with you ASAP.

I recommend you take a break from whatever it is you are doing if you can and get access to this report now.

Consider your future success by going here now...

http://www.the-death-of-networkmarketing.com/?see-why=2473

Thanks,

John

PS - Mike and Ellie say it will only be available for a few days or so, so do not delay...
