I don't really get the point of those videos. Most of the things people mention have absolutely nothing to do with what they do on PC's. A cab driver in that video wall goes "I'm a PC and I talk about the weather 30 times a day." Deepak Chopra goes "I'm a PC and we are all part of a unified conciousness."

How is that supposed to make me think "Oh yeah, PC's rock."? I thought those videos were supposed to be about the many ways PC's help the world go round?

I thought these adds were to reprogram people's thoughts when they hear the phrase "I'm a PC" so that they don't automatically associate that phrase with Apple.

It's a reply to the Mac ads that stereotype PC users as boring, buttoned down, brown-suit wearing losers. The fact that people can post their own videos acts as a bit of viral advertising as well, making them more excited about the platform.

Yeah, but at least the Mac ads were about the 'downsides' of being a PC. These videos aren't even about being a PC, despite claims to the contrary.

Hi, I'm a PC.

And while I know there's some un-truths in the Mac ads, I generally think they're funny.

And I like the new "Hi, I'm a PC" ad, too.

And while, I know that being a PC is good, I also know that a PC left alone, will deteriorate to mediocrity. I'm a PC, but I need a Mac to push me, as evident by my PC history.

I'm a PC, but I'm really envious of the Mac's design and overall attention to the user experience. I know full well that this means openness will have to be sacrificed a little. I do love my PC openness, though, and I hope my PC guardians will implement some of the Mac's beauty.

I'm a PC, but I'm a little miffed at my guardians at the momment. How my guardians value vendor profit more than my experience by letting vendors ship buggy drivers & dishonest "certified" labels. But I'm willing to forgive if the next wave is good.
