Bullets change governments far surer than votes.
The website is still around but almost all activity, with the exception of Robert McLaws now and then, has ceased! I find it hard to believe that everyone has stopped developing for Longhorn, especially with the CTP bits released not too far back, and the new CTP bits on the way. Why is it so dead, and is there an alternative that is still thriving?

Consider it ackowlegement that Longhorn is never going to ship. It's the new Netscape 5.
You're right, the Longhorn blogs have slowed the reason may be that those developers are just too busy writing code.

Funny, Robert called me this morning and told me that Longhorn Blogs will get a lot more active this summer.

He has a lot of plans as Longhorn comes back out of the shadows.

The lack of activity is due to the fact that Microsoft has basically gone back to the drawing board with Longhorn. When it comes back out over the next few months you'll see a lot more excitement.
