I'm the video guy
Stick this stuff in your portable media player and play it!

Mike Hall is doing a series of audio shows interviewing employees at Microsoft (all around Mobile and Embedded. First is with Balz Wyss, talking about voice over IP (VoIP).

Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) who works on the Xbox Live team as a program manager has been doing a series of shows about his journey through the video game world.

Mike Lehman, a senior consultant at Microsoft, is podcasting about software and music. 100 shows. Whew. Most are a minute long, though.

What makes these audio shows podcasts? You can subscribe to them via an RSS News Aggregator (like http://www.dopplerradio.net).

You can subscribe to Major Nelson's feed here and Mike Hall's feed here.

For other podcasts, visit http://audio.weblogs.com/

How about you, do you have a podcast? List it here.
I myself tried out VoIP for the first time via a
cheap USB IP Phone off of eBay

And Skype. It is better quality than UK phones but I
must admit I do worry about security of calls made.

Bullets change governments far surer than votes.
If you're using Skype, apparently the data stream is encrypted. I'd imagine that VoIP would be encrypted as well through other providers such as Vonage. It wouldn't be hard to implement, so I'd be surprised if encryption wasn't offered.
But Skype isn't point to point so your encrypted convo might go though third party nodes (standard skype users) thus allows your transmissions to be stored and decrypted later...

You can download files from any of these podcasts using idle network bandwith using DrizzleCast.

DrizzleCast is a podcast client for Windows that uses Microsoft BITS technology to download RSS enclosures.  It's a free download @ http://www.nuparadigm.com/Products/Toys/

Eileen Brown challenged us at  Rod Trent's MyITForum Blogs to start coming up with SMS and MOM blogcasts.  Brian Tucker took up the challenge and created the SMS Blogcast Repository  where several people are creating extremely helpful blogcasts for download.  As for Podcasts, I don't think enclosures are enabled on the above blogs, yet, but my blog uses WordPress 1.5 and surprise surprise when you link to a media file, WP automagically turns it in to an enclosure! So my blogcasts are podcasts. Q.E.D.

DrizzleCast version 1.1 was released today.  Added the ability to view the progress of downloads as well as the ability to open the file once the download has completed.  View the screenshots to see these new features in action @ http://www.nuparadigm.com/Products/Toys/DrizzleCast/
