OutOfCoffeeException

On my last thread I was wondering why MS prefers Flash over SL in it's own VOD site. But now Vodafone starts a new VOD site in Germany using SL and btw it's much nicer than the MSN site. So I guess it awnser my question and proves that SL is ready for professional usage.

And yet they still complain that you need IE6+ when you browse using firefox.

DOH! FAIL!

I would think the Olympics would prove that SL is ready for usage. However designing an entire site around a plugin, well that is a different story.
That is one snazzy site.

As far as designing an entire site around a plug-in...well, just look at YouTube.  If the download is small enough, people will install it.  I'd just make sure that the plug-in works on the major browsers/OSes (IE, Fx, Safari)/Windows, OSX, Linux)

Which is why complaining about the browser version is very stupid.

If you stumbled and fell down, it doesn't mean yet, that you're going in the wrong direction.
Using FF. No problems with Vodafone VOD...
No problems here using FF either, they might have fixed an earlier problem or blowdart is incompetent. Smiley

What an ad for Silverlight though - cripes I wish more desktop interfaces were that attractive and smoothly animated.   Makes you wonder what some sites will look like with SL 3.0 and GPU acceleration...

(And hell - I'm using a Geforce6100LE integrated video PC at the moment which is awful in terms of graphical performance!)

Say "Thank You" to G/WebKit developers.

I CAN has cheezburger and you CAN'T has stop me!
The really dumb thing is that in the background a video is playing and the site works fine behind the warning message.

EDIT: Oh, and when you cancel the warning the site works fine too Perplexed
fyi: the usage of WMP as plugin is due to DRM (required by all Content Providers), and by the time dev started there was no SL2. So yes you can browse the site with FF etc, but DRM pre-delivery only works with activex thats why the check for IE6/7. Trailers do not need to be protected so they are shown using SL

And thanks for the snazzy Smiley
