I am reading "news" that DirectX 11 might be released as soon as early 2009
and
ATI also planning to release DirectX 11 cards in early 2009.

I also found some articles about DirectX 11 being cut from Windows 7.
I am sure something is not quite right with the news.

Can we get some CONFIRMED news about DirectX 11 to squash rumors?
And also, can we get a video interview with the DirectX team or something like that?
With the exception of ATI releasing DX11 cards in 2009, I think all the other rumors are false.

I'm hoping that the DirectX team continues to push gaming. I'm afraid Microsoft will devote most of their gaming experts to the Xbox Sad
Well you can already download the beta of DX11 in the Nov 2008 DXSDK, and it runs under Vista just fine. Naturally, some of the new features can only be run in software mode.

It was never exclusive to Windows 7.
