Quick Launch was totally useless IMHO.  However, now that it doesn't take up extra space and they added keyboard shortcuts, I don't mind it.

Press Win-#  to open or switch to the #th item (open or pinned) in your Super Taskbar.  Awesome.

No, Win-D is "Show Desktop", effectively hiding all windows.  To activate Aero Peek, the key is Win-0.

Just Coding for Fun...

is "cursor acceleration" new to Windows 7? If so it is awesome. I was trying to understand how I could be moving around so quickly, when I have two monitors and I need to get from somewhere in VS on one window to the upper left of outlook on the other, it was only taking an inch or so of movement of the mouse...

I was liking it without really understanding that it was new

No...  the acceleration curve may have changed, but cursor acceleration's been there since Windows 95.
after a week or so - i find it like this:

- if you pretend quick launch doesnt exist - and just use the taskbar buttons for running programs - it is wicked.
The previews are better, the hover your mouse = highlight app, the transition/sliding of the windows.. all excelent.

- LOAD rocket dock - and use THAT as quick launch, put it on the opposite side to the taskbar

Again - on a 30" monitor - one bar is not enough (need creating toolbars back) but this to me is good solution.

PlayNice!

If you're emotionally attached to Quick Launch and want to restore it (I personally like the shortcuts as opposed to drilling down the Start Menu Programs or logo key - # to get to my programs),:

- right click on the taskbar

- select Toolbars

- New Toolbar...

- in the Folder field, type in:  %AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch then click the Select Folder button

Your Quick Launch Toolbar is restored. You can now adjust to taste, such as unchecking Show Text or Show Title, etc...  Hope this helps Smiley
