You will never know success until you know failure
I wrote a blog post on Tech Vues regarding Windows 7 and its performance and ultimately, why I wont use it past beta.  I also included a screenshot of my Windows 7 desktop.

Why did you have to link to one paragraph on another site?

Care to share your thoughts here?
basically he has a low-end computer (below what microsoft suggest) and don't want to spend money for an OS.
So, what you say on the linked post is that you like Windows 7, that it runs acceptably on your PIII 800 machine, but you won't buy it when it's released because you don't like Activation.

Basic translation for you Windoze and Vi$ta users.  PC/OS is a bright and shiny failure, I cant have success doing anything else so Im coming back to Windows.  This is the basic translation for rjs post and BTW your color coordination is not great thats the ugliest desktop I have ever seen, are you color blind?

Whilst true about color coordination, thats hardly fair considering what most 'linux' looks like.

Every Linux distribution out there with the exception of PC/OS, ZevenOS and OpenSellout Linux look outstanding.

I do agree with him on one point.  I have better things to spend my $1,000.00 on than Windows 7.  Expensive, proprietary and substandard.

The bug is in Ubuntu, not gNewSense.  Alas, once again I have better things to do with $1,000.00 than to buy Windows 7.  I would not use a computer before I used Windows 7.

gNewSense is based on Ubuntu so the bug is also present there.

But you knew that already.

Its not present in gNewSense.  But I do find it funny you are trying to change the subject to avoid discussing the fact you are chump enough to buy Windows 7 when its released.  But thats OK, you want to pay for a substandard legacy operating system you are more than welcome to that its your money.  What else would you do with the grand you will pay for Windows 7 upon release.

If Win7 supports my UPS just like Vista then I'll buy Windows 7.

But I tested my UPS with gNewSense and it didn't get recognized.

Hey its your money to waste.  So which one will you give up first?  House or car? I think your UPS does work and you are just being contrary.
And why should I care?

Boing!

I think your brain does work and you are just being contrary with your posts.

The whole aversion to activation and WGA is starting to wear thin. I haven't so much as heard a peep out of WGA in at least a year, and my current system took a matter of a few seconds to activate over two years ago.

Oh noes, I'm being tracked!

1000$ hum ?

If someone is using Windows XP since the SP2 (6 august 2004) and buy an OEM version at 80$, so that make 1628 days (20 january 2009), 0.04$ a day to use Windows. 0.04$ is not free as your "fantastic looking gNewSense", but it is not 1000$.

I like Windows 7 a lot and I will buy it with a new PC. But you know what ? I also use Ubuntu and OpenSuse and I like them ! It is possible to like Windows and Linux !
Man, I really really really hope that W7 gives you the option of making the title bars and taskbar non-transparent when maximizing windows.  I really hate the fact that it's gone in W7.

Pretty much everything else though (aside from the gadgets & game explorer seeing virtually zero updates) is coming along nicely.

EDIT: The game explorer now has the ability to track your high scores from the games... that is new functionality (and I like it how it instantly updates Smiley )
