Watched Rob Conery's latest screencast this morning : he covers unit testing for beginners with Brad Wilson, which I found quite interesting even though I lost my cherry years ago ....

...why is failing a unit test equated to cherry-popping?

(I failed my first unit test in 2006; I don't really do unit testing for non-critical things since the time taken to write every test condition eats up other, more productive time; and some tests are just inane, like testing if a getter/mutator works)

Actually, I made it fail on purpose Wink

To make sure I am understanding what I am doing.

The cherry-popping bit was because it was the first time I have setup and run a unit test.

I keep reading about it and like most things, I can only learn so much by reading which is great, but  I find the best way to learn is by doing Smiley

I like to learn things which will help me be a better developer Big Smile
