MicrosoftCommunities: News Ticker | The Coffeehouse

OK I posted about this a long time ago because it was really annoying me.

You see something interesting news item in the News Ticker at the top of the page,

and while you are moving your mouse to click on it, it changes to another ticker.

So, you have to wait a while for that ticker to come back again.

Back in the days, I used to be able to go to MicrosoftCommunities.com website and just click from the list of news ticker.

But the website got changed into the Silverlight stuff which I never use.

Is there a way where we can just see the list of currently running News Ticker items?

I wish the old MicrosoftCommunities.com web page would be added back into the current one.

None of the Silverlight visualizations on microsoftcommunities.com contain just the list of the ticker items. I don't believe that any of them are even pulling from the same data source (for example, the Ticker on that site is pulling items from Technet and MSDN's RSS feeds, while the ticker at the top of this page is pulling from a set of about 20 items from across all of Microsoft's properties.

Exactly! All I want to see is a quick list of items that are running **inside** the News Ticker at the top of the page.

For Example,
(1) This is Your GPS on WPF
(2) Office Casual - Hot to work with the Ribbon
(3) Qik for Windows Mobile Updated
(4) etc...

But those Silverlight Applications on http://www.microsoftcommunities.com/ are showing many more news items which I am not interested and too cumbersome to use.

yeah, I'm reading it now... we aren't watching the coffeehouse as closely as the feedback forum for... feedback... but anyway, I understand what you'd like and we'll keep it in mind. I'm glad you are interested in those news items.

Perhaps we could figure out a non-ugly way to put little back/forward arrow next to the titles

A drop-down, maybe like:

Channel 10: SkyDrive Adds New Silverlight-Enabled Features | More ▼

could work. It would expand either on mouseover like the Microsoft Communities menu or on click.

Or just have arrows on both sides to rotate between items:

About daily news ticker at the top of the page. In the past I also used to go to Microsoft website and just click from the list of news ticker. Now it changed into the Silverlight and it's also bad news for me, because I don't use it. Is there other ways to see daily and latest news updates?
