Windows 7 on an Apple MacBook Air. Windows looks like a bad relationship where they promise the moon, but always fall short. overall opinion was that it reminded me of Ubuntu Warty. Both Vista and Windows 7 are installed and neither is worth a *. Oh can run a specific program here or there - most could have been written in Java or produced as a webapp.

So... MS should bundle more application software ??

Wow, the EU are really going to go for *that* one.

Does Apple bundle his OSX with iLife or iWorks by default? Sounds new to me...

Btw. Windows 7 comes with WordPad that supports to open and edit ODT and OOXML documents. Wink

Is office really that important? I use outlook all the time, and word rarely but the rest might as well not bother installing.. I know some people will use excel but I don't think its really worth 'including'..

So, where did you copy this from today?
Windows out of box is pretty plain, but there are plenty of free options out there, that is the magic of software.

OpenOffice and whatever IBMs Office Suite is. Software is expensive. I do not think Macs come with a suite either, though I imagine most people get iLife.
No, you didn't. You installed it in a virtual machine. Big difference! Why don't you try it on Boot Camp? It works great for me.

@littleguru: OS X does come with iLife.

"@littleguru: OS X does come with iLife."

Not really: Macs come with iLife, not OS X.

And iLife isn't an office suite. Nor are it's upgrades free. And iWork isn't free either.

Oh and that picture isn't even peter's, it belongs to someone in Cincinnati. So it's nice to know that peter can tell out that from someone else's screenshot.

Like I say tired old troll.

The text isn't Peter's either, it was copied and pasted from the same person who took the screenshot:  http://www.macewan.org/2008/12/31/windows-7-on-apple-macbook-air/.

Don't worry, we found it already. Please don't do that; add your opinion, comment, rant, but don't go around just copying and pasting stuff from other people.

copy, where the matter?

The problem is that you did not cite your source (which makes it looks like you're trying to pass it off as your own writing), and you did not offer any commentary or insights of your own. Do those things in the future, and there will be no problem.

Plus it's not comparing like with like. Win7 was installed in a VM, so there's a lot of issues just begging to be discovered.

Nor is Apple shackled from bundling due to the EU and various other blocks.

He's right, there shoud be a specific switch in Windows that says.. OH HIGH FIVE DUDE, YOU HAVE A MACBOOK AIR.. FREE OFFICE.. FOR YOU!

Lets face it you get so little else with the air that anything is good..
