Copy/paste of images works just fine here...

Ah, gotcha. Never tried that in the old editor. Just single images.

It looks cool. I definitely like the dark stain and the rounded edges. I would've added some holes for cables and some sort of power rail underneath, myself, but it's more multipurpose like this.

Meanwhile, I'm still slaving away at the Ikea project from hell myself:

God I hate painting and soldering.

very nice done!!! maybe i copy your work for a future project. long time ago I used to be a crapenter and from time to time I shut down Visual Studio and get some real work done Wink

Looks nice, but why on earth did you bang it up and rub dirt on it? I guess I'm just not into that "distressed" look.

Oh, and my dog says hello to your dog.

WOOH! WOOH!

I know... I cringed at this pic  Wink

Nice table. Is it really strong? Somehow I feel the edge is too far from the support. I am bad with woodwork, I just buy the enpensive office desk from office depot. Smiley Mine is super heavy though.

on another note it looked liked that was a picture of my main sumsung lcd it looked so similar in background image colors & desktop (%icon clutter + the odd few spread out to right side)

Cut and paste doesn't work?  Does in Firefox, at least:

{fixed double paste--  needs to be fixed by C9 devs}

Build a strong computer desk for $100

* pics ended up being too high contrast... ran a batch on them... oh well

Ive been propping up my desk with a stool ... it is slowly collapsing under it's own weight as it
is our old, old, old dining room table - with leaflets - it was also out under the deck for 2 years
so all in all - time for a new desk:

The Land of the Dust ...and ashes ... and garbage (um ya im a bit of a pig) ...so i need a NEW desk!

So - lets go over to IKEA and see what a 3 x 8 ft desk costs:

closest thing to that size is a large dining room table (again) *their normal desks are 2 by 5ft

http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/70116262

OK it would work... but it's 300 bucks and not exactly ..unique.

So I thought seeing as my Sunroom idea got vetoed (the shingles need to be replaced = 5k .. bah ...boring)
that id try to make a STRONG desk - that is not filled with Styrofoam and cheap veneer, SO.......

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

i grabbed the following:

- 7 - 2 x 10's pine @$11 ea = $77
- 1 +1/4 screws / small ebony stain / small cherry stain  $20
= $97.00

(i am probably going to build heritage post legs - but for now i had some old IKEA legs (20$)

Basic design is 4 boards on top - and 3 underneath to hold them.

This = NO CUTTING ANYTHING... so long as you want an 8ft desk ...you could use 6ft if you want)
I also got clamps (which i should have had last year ... anyway..  clamp 2 boards together - and place one in the center

measure quick 5 inch intervals and put a pile of screws in (dont sink them too deep)

repeat - for other boards

*i can here jono saying "have you got enough screws in that?"  haha

Flip it over...   no cutting .. no glue ... no dowels ... and it's very strong and pretty tight

ok now draw circle with a cup on the corners and cut off with a jig saw

then round the sides with a sander

sand the whole top...

OK - now that's it is all perfect... lets destroy it... get a hammer and and smash holes and divots in it

bash up the sides as well .. like its been bumped moving around

get some screws, nails, chains, staples etc - and hammer imprints into the wood...

add some "unfortunate" scratches

smash  the sides some more ...

bash up the corners (from bumping/moving)

Get a pile of soil, gravels, dirt / mud ..rocks...

rub it in

now clean off excess with black coffee....

mix a stain you like (although it could already be finished if you like beachwood.) because this if for my desk
i want to go pretty dark ...  my office is dark... i like dark to work...

I mixed Cherry stain with Ebony

1st coat  just cherry ... rub it on

2nd coat - mixer of both

let dry

stain all Wood Knots - ebony (black)

Varnish

varnish

varnish

and... thats where im at.

I am going to attach the ikea legs - and varnish a few more times.

ill post when i fumigate my office - and move it downstairs.

Strange.  It doesn't show up twice in the editor, so I can't remove the second copy.

edit: fixed.  There's an editor bug where pasted content is pasted twice; one is in a div with its style set to hidden, but C9 strips out style attributes, showing both copies.
