Because we complain louder to an English speaking company.

Sad I could never get a key and it looks locked down now. "You don't have access to view keys."

My name is Dave Oliver. I'm a Technical Architect.

SlackmasterK, I doubt they are gonna take it away from you now you have it.

However you've gotta do good things with it!

... like get your head around all that software you've never had access to before, like Biztalk for example, then show your work colleagues and boss what this stuff can do.

I did this with my boss sometime back and it stops them from buying stupid software that doesn't work with .Net ... because one of my bosses thought that working in Java and .Net are the same. He didn't get that another language and getting on that curve would just burn devex (Development Expenditure) and just p*ss everyone off.

So use the force to save your sanity!

Sabot: in your scenario, you're using BizTalk for evaluation, which you can do anyway. I don't think there's a use for BizTalk in a home LAN environment though; the most specialist server I've used on my LAN was Windows Media Services, but I stopped using it because my upstream is only 256kbps.

I actually own a legal development licence for BizTalk.

Never installed it though. Never really understood what it does. I likely should one of these days but it just seems far too niche and I've never even read a company looking for Bliztalk specialists etc.

While we're on the topic of TechNet - Is anyone going to be getting TechNet the year Windows 7 hits the shelves? I was thinking about it. It costs about 100% more than OEM Windows 7 but you get tons of additional toys to play with for evaluation on your home network Smiley

Software from a TechNet subscription is only licensed for evaluation and learning anyway, so it's not like you could use it in a production environment.
