I have no idea if this is possible at all, but is there any way to use songs from Zune on an iPhone? I am never going to pay per song ever again, and I am thinking of getting an iPhone (ugh) and was wondering if I could use both together.

Is this even possible?

No. iPhone has no idea how to deal with subscription music.

Subscription songs are DRMed WMA files; they won't play on an iPhone (or anything other than a Zune, for that matter).

Non-subscription songs (normally purchased or purchased with your 10 monthy song credits) may be non-DRMed MP3 files; these will play on an iPhone.  Import the MP3s into iTunes and they should automatically sync to your iPhone.

Oh. In that case, just use iTunes to move the MP3s to the phone.

You'll need iTunes anyways for managing the phone (updates, backups, etc)

Well, iTunes can import WMA files without DRM and convert those to MP3, MP4 or AAC format (whatever is currently set as the default CD import format) to play on your Apple made portable device. If you want to be evil, the DRM can be removed somehow, but I won't dive into that. Smiley

But the Zune Marketplace doesn't have DRMless WMA files. They're either WMA (with DRM for subscription purposes) or MP3 (no DRM for purchase).

MS should write a Zune client for the iPhone.

That's what I do Smiley

I have no media on the phone.

It would be intersting, wouldn't it? Smiley

At one time you could drag and drop Zune DRM files onto a Windows Mobile Device and have it playback until the timelimit DRM bomb hit, then it was delete all the files off the device and drag and drop again.   It's not an easy workaround, but right now it's the only smartphone platform that you can use.  Although with WinMo 6.5 you should have the option to sync using the Zune Software.

(Where's Pink, Microsoft???  We really want a Zune phone. Really!!)
