The Master of Baiters

It's a children's film. really.

I took myself and parents to see Wall-E only because pretty much everyone on the blogosphere was hyping it, from the visuals (well, it is Pixar, which is fair enough) to the story and characters (bah! they were undeveloped one-dimensional plot devices who know nothing of real malevolence or self-interest).

Pixar's only true "you can enjoy it without the kids" film was The Incredibles, but I still felt some parts were lacking.

I'd love to see them do an adult art-noir film sometime.

Oh, and all the Dreamworks SKG films are just laaame.

I want my scalps!

The last Pixar movie I really liked was Ratatouille.

Always a step ahead in stupidity.

Second.

Tried watching "Bee Movie" a few weeks ago, and all the gags looked like they were created by Seinfeld alone (which they probably were)! Could not see myself as a kid enjoying that one...

It finds lightbulbs.

After Finding Nemo I just gave up on Pixar. Every film I've seen of them so far appears to be the exact same idea with different cute characters. Which is fun three or four times, but after that I guess I've just seen enough.

I hated Finding Nemo ( I also found Toy Story to be really boring). Ice Age...don't really remember my reactions to it. The Incredibles, Ratatouille, and Wall-e were amazing, and the recent Up was just beautiful.

Why is the caption missing??

Saw IceAge 3 yesterday, and thought it was great, and so did my six year old.

It is very, very hard to create a movie both for the young ones and the old ones, but if you can squeeze in some semi-grown-up jokes, that is enough for me.

My name has 9 letters. Coincidence? I think not...

I loved The Incredibles, Wall-E was beautiful but overhyped, and I haven't seen most of the rest.

Up looks cool, would love to see it, but it won't be released in Japan until December!

The Master of Baiters

I was actually wondering, could you disguise a hardcore porno film as a children's film?

The children would be so naive and unknowledgeable they wouldn't care for all the coock 'n' balls, and the adults would sure find it "entertaining".

I found The Incredibles really boring.

They would have to be extremely young children (like under 3 or something) to not at least ask "daddy, why are those people not wearing any clothes?", if not more than that.

Wall-E was good overall but not consistently throughout the movie. It started out really nicely when it was just Wall-e and the other robot. When they added the humans in, the movie lost its touch.

I do love these movies. But I'm more in for the pictures than the story Tongue Out

The Prince of Egypt has a great score and beautiful visuals, if a little "too much" at times, in terms of sweetness, but it's an amazing work of art. The score [*] gave me shivers at the movietheater.

When Antz came out, I enjoyed that as well.

There's almost always fragments of niceness that make a movie not completely worthless.

That philosophy was put to the test yesterday though, when I stumbled upon "Ants on a plane", an apparent follow-up to "Snakes on a plane", with genetically evolved bullet ants that were even more fierce and... intelligent. So dangerous in fact, that no country wants the plane to land on their ground (although - how to persuade an empty fuel tank.) ["Please, we have motherf* ants on the motherf* plane!"]
