Anyone have an idea why my mouse tends to creep towards the top-left corner of the screen during VS compilation? (Seems to be "going home" to coordinates 0,0...)

Isn't it an affect of video cards?  Has anyone else dealt with or witnessed this nuisance or am I the lucky sole winner?

Gratias!

EDIT: you know, it's not just during compile, it also can happen when running debug through the IDE. Is this a VS related oddity or not?

Is it an optical mouse?  Is there a hair in the photoreceptor?

The pioneers would be appalled!

I only have noticed that problem with wireless mice.  It seems like the computer gets too busy with compilation to process the inputs from the USB wireless dongle.

Why do optical mice have holes where the sensor/emitter is? Why can't they have a solid base?

It finds lightbulbs.

A hair in the receptor wouldn't explain why it only happens during VS compile/debug.

Ah well, if the Mouse is seeing crystal reports it's probably just trying to run away.

WOOH! WOOH!

Let me take a guess John. You have a left-handed mouse Wink Am I right?

Dang! I had a chance to astonish, if not with my expertise, then with my confidence.

But I've seen the mouse creep too. i do have a left-handed mouse, and found that the tension in the chord physically pulls the mouse towards (0,0).  The tension in the chord whips the mouse left-ward and up-ward (0,0)

Rejigging the chord, usually fixes it for me.

Left handed? It all becomes so clear.

I actually am right-handed. Bat right, throw right, kick right. Although my left leg isn't entirely useless. I can feign with it. Sometimes you'll see me fake left, fake right, AND go left.

I do use a right-handed mouse, too. Depending on the carpal tunnel.

I'm on my very last life.

I read somewhere that everyone is right-handed by default, and that left-handedness is an aberration, where the brain's development is forced to adapt to a defect encountered during in embryonic growth.

Hence,  left-handed == brain-damaged
