I think the sad truth is that Microsoft exec's really think that given the chance to try both an iPhone and WM device, that people will opt for the latter. All that will really happen is they will hand people straight into Apple's waiting arms and WM will be crossed off everyone's shopping list (if it isn't already).

Perhaps Microsoft should hold off until they've cloned the iPhone and taken 10% off the price?

well.... sort of yes and sort of no.

depends what it looks like... and they just went and hired an apple retail exec... so - anything to be gained (cool-wise) has just been frittered away by this lame half thought out hire.

ok - so lets say MR APPLE ( i cannot believe they ruined a concept this quickly) gets some good locations - apparently - right beside apple locations - you know like bugger king does to mcdondalds.

Man - would i ever like to walk into ms and blow up corporate. (KIDDING! do-not-send-secret-service!)

A while ago - i posted that the store should look like high end jewelry store - all teak and retro office looking- then i axed that - and said to just launch MS Coffeehouse wordwide. - powered by starbucks - OR starbucks - powered by MS (is how id do it now) - casual - many machines - softweare and coffee - an actual USEFUL store (doubles as internet cafe) - but for MALLS

who sells internet in malls?

If MS wantsd to do this - when they dont sell computers... the only other idea is to make MS store an MS powered arcade or - kids funland sponsorships

While i said stores before - id now say be the tim hortons within home depot - across all segments
