WOOH! WOOH!

Hey, whatever happened to that C9 dev blog transparent thingie?

It's been a while since the last update, hasn't it?

Was it a blog? form? show?

I can't find it... Maybe it's so transparent that it has disappeared! haha!

I seriously was going to reply with "It disappeared!" before I clicked into this thread.

It finds lightbulbs.

Yeah, same with the video series. One or two updates, and then nothing. Shame.

I guess they are more focused on working and coding then on telling what they are doing. They would like to keep some suprizes I guess. Wink

I don't think products need surprises to succeed in the market.

Look at Windows 7, almost everything was leaked ahead of any official announcements but even still almost Windows enthusiast is still excited to use and evangelise it.

A rock solid and superior product is better than the cheap thrill of a surprise announcement that wears off in a couple days.

Relax. Transparency doesn't mean you publish often, it means you publish when you have something to say.

Hey there,

Good point.

We're actually filming our next update on the Rev 9 project tomorrow, where we'll talk through our approach on the User Experience and Information Architecture.

Thanks!

Windows 7 was not completly leaked before PDC09. The new taskbar had not leaked gor one afaik.

Actually, it was, by Microsoft themselves: a build of Windows 7 containing the new taskbar was used for a multitouch demo at the D6 conference in May 2008.  It wasn't done yet (it wasn't done right after PDC, either, IIRC), and they wouldn't talk about it, but it was there for all to see nonetheless.

It finds lightbulbs.

Really, all that was there was really just a larger bar with square rather than rectangular buttons. There was no mention of the quicklaunch/taskbar integration, jump lists, the tab previews or anything, so that's hardly a leak of the new task bar.

Welcome Change

We're all busy working on various projects. But, we will get better at this. Duncan just posted a new entry, BTW...

Which projects are you working on?

From a content perspective, Windows 7, as you might imagine, is a big topic that we're looking to cover, what Coding4Fun apps we should build for this year, and what things we can do to better bring PDC to customers not attending PDC.

And that's what we can talk about. I'm working on a few projects that are private at this point, but since you want to know what I'm working on, at least now you know I can't talk about it yet. Wink

And what Dan said, too.
