Does anyone know why that link is disabled?

It seems that it's disabled for ALL downloads...

Why're you downloading Server 2003 R2 considering that Server 2008 R2 is coming out in exactly a weeks' time?

Because he wants to mirror an existing setup? Because clients are running 2003 R2? Because the latest and greatest is sometimes not the best? (For example the geneva bits do not work on 2008 R2 because IIS has changed in an incompatible way)

I'm planning on upgrading to 2008R2, what's that about IIS7.5 and Geneva?

I wouldn't worry about it. Unless that hiccup will screw over other http modules, it might. It's not like you're going to be federating your home AD identity with corporations now is it?

I may want to federate with the AD of the servers I colocate, but that's a lot of hassle.

I doubt you do; it's not syncing usernames and passwords, it's a way for applications to allow authentication by third parties.

And who said software activation was a good thing? This is the very reason why activation isn't in the long-term interests of anyone.

Minh: that screenshot shows a VL download, that shouldn't require activation.
