I want my scalps!

+1 on the video.

I'd love to see this in action.

That't what I thought first when I saw the natal demo.

Lot of what we see more in sci-fi, both near future and far future is the clear displays...looking like they're 1/2" plexiglass with some display embedded. Saw this in the new Star Trek movie too. I think Chekov was even touching the "screen/plexiglass" and doing interactive stuff.

As for this is a modern-day work environment? Only place I could see something like this is in your meeting room perhaps. Or on a naval vessel on the bridge. In a mall kiosk perhaps...*ponders*

It finds lightbulbs.

I could definitely see myself working on some application while the ERD is projected on the rest of my desk and I can change stuff on the fly. Or even just browse the internet for some tutorial on my regular screen, find a turorial I need, then make a swiping gesture from my screen to my desk and read the article on my desk, while working on my normal monitor.

Sure, it's nothing you can't do with an extra monitor, but that's one huge extra monitor without sacrificing any space. Also easy for showing stuff to team members without five people having to huddle around your screen.

???

Yeah take the natal tech plus the surface tech and i can picture a fairly amazing way to do some things, brainstorming sessions, meetings, mockups of an app, workflow diagrams, database models, business workflow diagrams and so on...

make a big conf. table with suface tech for colab. and then have 2-3 big giant flatpanels on the walls for general display - perhaps 1 also with surface tech.  could be sweet but costly untill the mfg cost goes down....
