Well SVN is just a source control system. The client for it is command line driven. You can integrate it with Explorer using Tortoise SVN. There are VS plugins for 2003/2005/2008 from the VisualSVN folks and a free one called Ankh.

Don't know about VB6, not touched it in years. Ankh is supposed to appear as a normal source control provider, so it might work.

Zeus,

I'm quite familiar with TFS and it's awesome. I have a full 38 page screenshotted guide to installing TFS 2008 and I have a 18 page screen shotted install guide for TFS 2010 Beta 1.  Both are super simple so if you'd like to get a copy send me a mail at IanCeic at  microsoft.com.

The learning curve for TFS isn't too terrible. Check out www.teamsytemrocks.com

VB6 is supported with the MSSCCI provider. Smiley

TFS is alright, but it misses a lot of must-have features that rivals such as git have. And where is support for distributed builds?

...and why is it so expensive? Will we see a "TFS Express" any time soon (say, for groups of less than 3 developers, or devs with multiple machines they like to keep in sync)?

OK really, how often do corporate environments need distributed builds, or even distributed source control? Sure it's "cool", but is it needed by 99.99% of developers? Hell no.

Wow, that looks cool. I like the style (no overuse of gradients).
