This is really really really temptin! I have use the N810 for my thesis last year and made a program that runs on this device. I Love the interface!

You tap to get a cursor, then move the cursor to press the links? Why not just press the links?

N900 looks OK to me. I have 770 and N810 already and I'm propably going to buy N900 also.

 

Interesting to see how different Qt based Maemo 6 will be compared to Maemo 5's UI.

It's definitely an interesting approach. I guess the advantage over the 'finger spread' is that you won't run out of screen while trying to expand. This wouldn't be a problem on the iPhone because you can only have one window and it will always be centred.

Does Apple has some kind of strong patent on multitouch? The only multitouch phone I know of other then the iPhone is the Palm Pre.

Yes. They also have a patent on people having 10 fingers. The lawyers will be around shortly. I suggest you use the hacksaw.

 

(Unfortunately the patent system can be so stupid at time, it wouldn't surprise me if the answer to your question was yes, but I don't really know)
