It's not stupid; It's advanced!

So, it turns out that if you...

buy and MP3 on the Zune Marketplace,

delete the MP3

You can not restore the MP3 -OR- re-purchase it.

When you go to buy the song again, the price shows up as "restore", but then the download fails.

This is biting me right now as two initiall downloads failed, and now I have no way of getting the tracks. After an hour, the Zune customer support representative confirmed with me that this is in fact the case.

bug.

fix it.

(p.s. for my specific situation, the initial download failed, so I never even "lost" the MP3.)

Just tried. It works fine. And I'm in Germany, where I shouldn't even be able to download anything (video content doesn't work, music does).

There is however this issue, that restoring any content that was purchased over six months ago, may have been replaced with another file and been assigned another ZuneMediaID. If the file is protected, you won't get a new license key to play it, and restoring it in general won't work.

File this under crazy question.  Have you tried to download it on another authorized computer?

But I agree, this needs a fix quick, or the ability to have a credit placed on the account.
