Sometime last night my computer downloaded Windows Vista Service Pack 2 (KB948465) which is dated 6/30/2009 but I haven't installed it yet.
I checked and my Vista32bit says it's at Service Pack 1.
Why would I only be getting Service Pack 2 three months after it was "published"?
Yeah,.. I had that too last night on my Acer,.. (yes yes)
I'm installing Win 7, err I mean Vista SP3, straight away on the 22nd of October,..
It still wasn't being pushed via Windows Update when I looked at few days ago, presumably it's only now starting to appear on there. That's not really unusual for Service Packs since it gives plenty of time for the kinks to appear before mass rollout starts to happen.
OK, at least it's not an anomaly so I guess I might as well install it. The date made it look like a mistake.
It was advertised on WindowsUpdate for a couple of months but not automatically installed.
It may well be related to driver incompatabilities that have just been resolved.
(didn't mean to quote you)
Well, I just installed it and so far it all seems to work.
