My name has 9 letters. Coincidence? I think not...

I have tried it out. I still vastly prefer to read from paper.

But have you tried it out on a 192DPI screen, like the one a VGA Pocket PC has? I agree screen reading on regular 96DPI screens isn't quite there yet, but 192DPI + ClearType is just marvellous.

???

I wish more hi-dpi screens were on the market....

seems like I can't find any desktop displays that do better than 90 dpi unless i buy a small screen.

I think there is a magic "tipping point" that we are getting close to.

needs to have a device that is thin, light weight, runs for a long tine on a charge, tough enough for casual users getting around with rain and droping it, and has to be readable in daylight, and for less than a grand USD.

the closer we get on that set of things the more the general public will be able to buy it and be willing to try it out.

ideally though the price point needs to get around $299.00 +- $100.00

but getting all the bits in that small box and at that magic price is a hard thing to do just yet.

Bandwidth problem. The few extremely expensive ones that are out there all use DisplayPort, look for those.

It finds lightbulbs.

Holy crap, I actually did a double take on that finger flick thing there.

Photo's look awkward but, like phones (where taking photo's is awkward too) sometimes it's just good to have a camera in something regardless.

If they want to dispel the vaporware claims all they have to show is an actual video of someone operating this thing.

Go Microsoft !!!!!!!

Microsoft is the best!

Ah, but if you watch the video on Engadget, he clearly winks when he said he's never heard of it.

My guess would be that we'll hear a bit more about the Courier at one of the PDC keynotes in a couple of weeks. Last year they covered the XBox 360 games designer 'KODU' in one of the keynotes and that was cool.

That may be just wishful thinking on my part though - although if they then announced that they were for sale right there at PDC in the Microsoft stand, then I would hightail it over there straight away and buy one....

???????????????????????

High-DPI screens would be nice, but there are so few apps that are high-DPI aware that it would make most apps either unreadably small or majorly screw up formatting/cut-off labels.
