I've got a few files up on SkyDrive, and the past few days SkyDrive has been messing up the filenames: when you download them their content-disposition header is a seemingly meaningless string of text rather than their actual filename.

 

Anyone else getting this problem?

Anyway, the files I downloaded are all fine. Same file name and nothing is corrupted or something.

HTTP1.1 introduced a way for a server to mark a resource as being "downloadable" (rather than being displayed in the browser) with a HTTP header called "content-disposition". It also allows a server to give a download a specific initial filename (e.g. "setup.exe") rather than rely on the web-browser to guess the name of the download based on the original HTTP resource (sometimes there are files like "download.php" which then serves up the download. Using HTTP1.0 this would break as the browser would assume the download itself is named "download.php").

No, it's an EXE download.

 

Earlier today it stopped serving broken filenames, now it just returns an empty document. Hmmm.
