C you

Paolo, I don't know where that 42 came from (from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, I presume), but I work in Italy at the moment and my contract contains 26 days + national holidays (actually it's pretty complex... in those 26 days Saturdays count, so you must "spend" 6 days to get a week off).

It varies a lot, or so I hear... I advise some thorough research before you update your resume.

Anyway, does anybody end up using all the vacation he/she is entitled to?

It finds lightbulbs.

Actually, I not only use it all up, but I usually buy the maximum of extra vacation days I can get as well.

I'm abusing coffee /w milk if that counts

Dutch companies are obliged by law that, if you work late, the employer has to arrange a meal.

We have a company snackbar/restaurant/lunchroom thingie (not free) and I use it all the time. I eat the not so healthy things also. And I am in great shape. And I drink a whole lotta beers too (after hours).

If you exersize regurarly, you need some fat to burn!

Oh and coffee is the brown exiler of life that keeps me awake during boring meetings,..

I never have (UK based), until I've been told to. You can only carry over 5 days in the UK from one year to the next, so in my last full time job I eventually was told I was having all of December off because I hadn't taken more than a week in the previous 3 years Big Smile
