Proving QQ for 5 years!

I want to build an alarm clock. My current one is breaking and I need a new hobbie.

Does anyone know some suitable, hackable, hardware? I would like at least four buttons (six would be ideal), an LCD screen with backlight, and a speaker or buzzer I can control.

Do you want it to be programmable like with the Micro .Net framework?

Fully programmable embedded computer with LCD display.

Bah! Get yourself down to Maplins (other electronics retailers are available), get yourself a bagful of discrete logic chips, some wire, a breadboard and the necessary LED digit displays/buzzer. Then put one together yourself. Far more entertaining than just writing a clock program for a linux box....

I concur, the pong clock comes in my mind, that'll add some extra awesomeness

Before C# there was darkness...

Something different. Do a touch screen clock with .Net Micro Framework and the Tahoe board.  Little pricey for a 1 off clock, but its a dev board for other fun.
