Seems MS has a winner on its hands. Windows 7 has beaten the pre--order record set by Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, and demand is still running strong.

One can only be happy that more and more people will use a current operating system and I don't have to support the old ones anymore Tongue Out

I've had a hope that 7 is actually swaying lots of xp users who rejected vista for whatever ignorant reason.. in which case I then would imagine the userbase for ie6 will bottom out somewhat sharply.

(phht, yea right)

Businesses rarely upgrade OSs on desktops. You'll have to wait until those machines are replaced.

Proving QQ for 5 years!

Which might happen given how long XP has been floating around.

it will be interesting to check the browser stats in say 90 or 180 days and compare them to say last month and 1 year prior.

see if it shows a trend.

Those awful random issues described in length here and elsewhere earlier in Vista Explorer were IMO alone enough justification to skip That OS (Vista)*. Unfortunately my tests show they may not have 100% fixed it, only 98%. I still get that "column settings randomly messed up/forgotten" issue in Windows 7's Uninstall A Program control panel. I'd like to have Installed on, size, version etc visible, but it returns to only showing the Name column and nothing else quite soon. It's as if it's not even saving those settings between boots. Though this is Win7RC upg from Vista I'm just about to do clean RTM install maybe next week.

* And no the service packs did not fix them despite ton of complaining. It's still worse in Vista to my best knowledge than in Win7RC.

I don't think my care factor could be any lower about your opinion.

Thanks for sharing your fascinating and insightful meta-opinion with us.
