Fired Up

I installed Office 2000 on a virtual machine yesterday but to my surprise MicrosoftUpdate didn't update it. I looked for some service packs and now I need to install SP1a before I can install any of the later service packs. The problem is that this update tries to download another file which isn't available anymore.

Can anyone from Microsoft digg deep into the private update archives and give me the full administrative update of Office 2000 Premium SP1a for the DUTCH version? Or make MicrosoftUpdate update it automatically.

Support dying out for it? Might not have anything to do with your problem though.

"Microsoft will continue to offer mainstream support for Office 2000 through June 30, 2004. The Office 2000 extended support period will last from July 1, 2004 through July 14, 2009. The latest Office 2000 service pack is required for hotfix support."

Human after all

The highly likely scenario is probably as you expect, something was changed that has broken your scenario (language, version, legacy product).. because you are probably somewhat more of a rarity it probably hasn't been noticed.

Can't you just download offline update packages instead?

Microsoft Update has never updated Office 2000 for me. I think that started with 2003.

Why am I still on 2000? I really don't see any reason to upgrade at home. I haven't had to really use it since college.
