I see this DELL 359 Euro very nice price (but i have already Dell2707 amazing monitor )
now i notice here 3 different multitouch technology
Capacitive
Resistive
Optical
--------
what is the best?
capacitive of course, I've always thought optical ones are a hack
I can get the same monitor pretty much minus the touch interface for the equivalent of 90 euro. The prices need to go down a lot more on these things.
wai wait, resistive is are a hack
optical is like capacitive but limited to only two fingers.
can someone confirm ?
Jamie your HP Touchsmart is Optical, work fine?
I have a HP Touchsmart and it works reasonably well, although it's only /duotouch and occasionally lags.
Capacitive monitors will work better than optical and they usually support more than 2 touch points.
Back to the Dell, not bad, but expensive for what it is. HP have just released one and it's much cheaper:

These things will be much common and hopefully cheaper next year I would think.
OK, thx for info. i can wait
I ordered myself a 24" touch XPS yesterday as they were half price for one day only
I can't ever see myself leaning over the desk to touch the monitor when I can comfortably use the keyboard and mouse.
Me neither. I bought the touch for wall mounting in reception so my spiffy cool new ajax intranet can be man handled by guests to the company
