Always a step ahead in stupidity.

Something with the letter "X" in it... without one, it won't fit in the cool crowd. Or you could even try the black tie & suit naming convention - "SharePoint Guy and associates, Incorporated". You could always dig into the Greek or Latin dictionary and find some cool words that don't translate to potential toilet humor references.

A name is something that you alone should come with, get together a list of popular/nice places, mountains, rivers etc. shuffle them, happy

???

also a non-word that sounds like a word is very often used....

Experian, Centra, Accenture  and so on....

When in doubt... just combine the areas you are working in and.. GRCIT Smiley

But bure is right... you need an X somewhere in there... GRCITx?

Best part about the name? Dealing with people who try to pronounce it.

Generate three random letters, stick "consulting" at the end, see if the .com domain is free, that's your company name. If it's not free, repeat until you find one that's free.

None of those companies have a good reputation though. Having a contrived name sends the message you're a contrived company with no soul.

Try to have a sense of humour. Maxis, creator of SimCity and other cash-cow franchises is actually "Six AM" backwards, a sign of the late hours the employees work at to make great games. Then there's my company, Softicide, which is named in a similar vein: "death by software" (or is it "death to software"?) . Be creative.

AdvicIt LLC

Well consulting normally includes some kind of advice. And you focus on IT. Therefor:

Advice + It => AdvicIt

It's pronouncable, its short, easy to remember since its so similar to "advice".  And the name doesn't seem to be allready taken. Around 30 search-results in Bing / 400 google =)

LLC is the 'merkin equivalent of the UK's Ltd: a company with limited liability. Similar to Sweden's AB or Germany's AG.

I understand by law a company must include these letters in the formal company name, but it isn't required for any Trading Names.

No, in Germany that'd be GmbH. Smiley

Anyways how about the first letters of the founders surnames + IT Consulting.
