Sorry dude but your website is not good enough. Think about a decent design instead of just slapping an ugly Silverlight deepzoom map on a white website.

dont you think you are being a little harsh? I see what he is doing. he is mapping places with their old pictures of the location. very creative idea. Its a time capsal, not just a silverlight deepzoom map on a white website.

Need a tutorial page and video for it. I couldn't figure out the purpose of this thing until later. I think normal users would just leave if they can't understand it in 10 seconds.

Thats good feedback - thank you. I am thinking of making the initial page one of the images, already defaulted to the 'fader view' for this reason.

So instead of the normal initial page you would get:

http://FromTheMalverns.com

This might make it easier to appreciate what the site is about for first timers?

I agree that it's not obvious what the site is. I only knew because of your earlier thread about it. The default fader view definitely helps.

Maybe open with a tutorial-ish page that has some examples, and then click a button to load into the main map page.

OK, I've made the change permanent - so the web site now defaults to an image taken from the Malvern Hills (I thought this was a little more interesting than the previous Toposcope' picture).

I'm also looking at creating a demo at the moment which I hope to integrate soon.
