I get the feeling this is just a "bragging rights" thread.

I don't care for system specs, its what you do with what you've got that's important. Someone who writes a 3D engine from scratch on a Pentium 166 is more worthy of my respect than someone who slaps something together in Managed DirectX for their GeForce 6800.

Not trying to start an argument here in anyway. But I think that you have it wrong here, it  isn't for bragging, it is (for me at least) out of interest. I'm certantly interested in what sort of system other Channel 9 users are running.

Insperation for my next upgrade.

I'm sorry if you have taken this as an offence W3bbo, it wasn't meant to be.

Did I ever say I did? Wink

...I see no real issue with citing the basic specs, but I felt the sheer number of Angus' questions was a bit overwhelming.

But if you must know... Athlon64 3200, Ti4800SE-128, MX440, 512MB Corsair, 80GB WD-Caviar Retrofit SATA.

...and I'm only using 4 of the 14 drive-bays in my system. What a waste Smiley

The people that listed a "Duel P4" does that mean two P4s running at 3Ghz a piece or one P4 with HT... Which are not remotely the same thing.

I was curious about that, too. As I said in my post above, the Pentium 4 cannot be used in a dual processor configuration so you either have a P4 with hyperthreading or you have Xeons.

Surely "Duel P4" means two pentiums facing off at dawn with pistols?

For the record, Firefox resizes images quite well. I'm of course using the latest stable release of Firefox, and I never noticed the lack of this feature in the past, but I could have just not been paying attention.

24) Heat, heat, heat, heat, heat.  I live in florida, and the case just doesn't have enough airflow.  I regularly run at 60c and have, at times, come home in the afternoon to find it running at 63c.  Watercooling is next Smiley

I'm using the Via C3 (Samuel) barebones by Asus for restaurant workstations as the CPU does not take a lot of power, quiet and runs cool.

The next chip out soon is the C7 (Esther). I want to try it out also.

I also like the Biblical names used with the CPU's.

Jesus Power!
