Anyone know when the download will be on MSDN? I am downloading Vista Beta1 now, but can't seem to find IE7 (i want to run on XP). Or maybe it won't be on MSDN?

(Sorry can't point you to the source, since I've been reading tons of blog entries and articles over the past day) - Yes, it will be on MSDN and looks like Aug 3rd is the date.

Also, I *think* (well, atleast from winsupersite's review and other screenshots) IE 7 is in Vista Beta 1 (unless you wanted to use that in XP, then probably have to wait)

I herad it was initially corrupt!

Don't quote me on this (because after a "brain wearying" day at work, an evening .Net user group meeting and two hours of reading blogs on the subject of Vista I'm not quite sure what I learnt where!) but I THINK I read somewhere that there won't be a separate IE7 until Beta 2. Beta 1 is an "included in Vista" build only.

My fried brain thinks it read this in the long analysis of Vista over at PC Magazine so it might be worth your reading through that if you're desperate for a quick answer. It was either there or on one of the "celebrity" blogs which talked about a "public" beta of IE7 not happening until Beta 2.

Hopefully someone more official will be along in a minute to confirm or deny this.

Me, I'm off to get some sleep while Microsoft File Transfer continues its long, slow 80KB/sec download.
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/IE/ie7/default.mspx

(just rebooting my Tablet PC after installing IE7 beta 1 on it)

It's certainly being talked about as a separate beta internally.
The INTERNAL beta site only went live five hours ago.

And two hours ago they started the ship party.

So I'd give it a while yet
The version available to download from Connect is corrupt.
The digital signature on it does not verify even though the File Transfer Manager said it had completed succesfully (twice).

Signature says
a2 58 00 bb 75 77 f5 85 4b 38 23 b8 22 28 d9 41 40 d0 24 4e
File is
ff 39 68 37 4b b1 db 8b fd 08 3c b7 8a b6 a3 3c d9 b1 8a

Who's been dogfooding it?  Just the IE team?

And partner teams. The internal beta is for any random Microsoft employee, e.g. me Smiley
I wonder if anyone would be so good as to post up file information that could be used to verify if a copy received from a third party source is 'real'.

Information of interest:

File Name?
File Size (accurate as possible)?
Modified Date / Time?
Digital Sig - Time Stamp?
Digital sig - Message Digest?
Digital Sig - Serial?
IE 7 tab is not good, iTunes Music store tab is more creative.

(Home>Altenative>Gorllaz>Demon Days)
it shows my current Page is Demon Days, just need click Altenative word when need back to Altenative Page.
Can you change the tool bar positions in IE 7 beta?
is IE7 able to  work with  the WinForm  custom controls without any depands?

I really do not think that it is original since breadcrumb trails have been around for years. When you do click on "Alternative" however it will stop playing whatever Gorillaz song you are listening to. I have always found that to be annoying.

I am looking forward to hearing user's feedback on ie7. I find browser zealots to be much more entertaining then the OS variety.

you are right:), the feature should apply to Adress(Naviagtion) bar of IE7.
That is interesting. So if I follow:

The address bar for c9 would be:

channel9->coffehouse->IE7 Beta Download

That is much more user friendly then:
http://channel9.msdn.com/AddPost.aspx?PostID=93111

I guess you could build it off history and page titles.

You can't "fix" the address bar! It is stuck at the top! I really hope this is something to be resolved before the final release... I wouldn't want to be stuck in this hell forever...

Also favourites seems to crash the browser if you keep clicking it; and the web feeds folder appears and disappears randomly.

The cross for the tabs is highly confusing (why not on the tab its self?) and you can't turn tabs off.

I also noticed you haven't addressed the 'Open' box on the file menu (which should have been fixed in IE 6).

There is an obscure bug in the encoding; if you click auto-select (Weston-Europe (Windows)), you get funny characters displayed all over the page even after you leave and re-visit.But when you hit refresh the encoding changes back to Unicode (UTF-8).

Why can't I have a larger refresh button on my toolbar if I want one? I have nothing again the small one, in fact I think it is a good idea but I just like something big and easy to click... Why remove it even if it is hidden upon install?

On a side note; I like the new double columned favourites list and the new ordering dialog is better and I am looking forward to seeing where this anti-plishing feature is going. Woot the Links folder is removable! Big Smile

Lol, if you are on a dual or triple monitor setup the favorites menu item goes fullscreen if you got a lot of links in there.

Sorry, you're stuck in hell.  If the address bar can't be moved, it can't be spoofed.

What would you like addressed?

This is not the final UI.

The links folder shouldn't be removeable - if it is, that's a bug.  I'm glad you like the Org Favorites dialog - I actually changed that myself. I hated the old one passionately.  Note that it's resizeable (always has been) but in Beta 2 I'll add the resize gripper.
