Profile E-mail, MSN, AIM | Site Feedback

I know you guys didn't want to store user data for privacy reasons, but still it would be nice to be able to set an e-mail/MSN/AIM in your profile.

Unless you want a bunch of people posting new threads asking about others' e-mail addresses (but even so, posts are still "stored" in the database).

Yes. There are lots of situations where one niner might need to contact another-- it would be helpful to have a "Contact Me" form on each niner's profile page (like the old C9) so that we don't have to post our actual email addresses on the web (and leave them open to spam harvesters).

In terms of features missing from C9, this is one of the top priorities to me. I've already needed it once (and it ended up that the person I needed to contact had to post their address to the web), and I don't even do that much emailing back and forth between Niners.

Yeah, completely forgot about the spam issues around "posting" addresses.

The lack of this feature came up yesterday when I wanted to e-mail a member of the C9 team about my account but couldn't find any [easy] way of doing so.

This means reset password is no longer in the plan. Might as well... it never did work.

It just came to me. V4 makes it real easy to remove functionalites. LOL.

Yeah, contacting the team should be easier. When the system would randomly ban people a while ago, I couldn't find any way to contact anybody about it but by creating a new account (which is a pain) and emailing one of the guys from the team via the Contact Me button. Now that that's not there, I have no idea how you're supposed to contact them in cases like those.

Well, in that case, you've still got the "Contact Us" form that goes to the C9 team, and doesn't even require you to be logged in... (see the bottom of the page)

I'm not sure we CAN have a separate e-mail field because of Live ID (maybe, but I'm not familiar enough). We can definitely add the other fields in at some point.

We've been talking about private messaging a bit lately. We've got it "designed" in our heads, but time is a big issue at the moment. We're swamped with PDC and other things right now. Sad
