No, it doesn't make sense. Simply because for the majority of the time, the thread is marked as read, which is the correct behavior.

Side effect of server loading the first page: your browser is caching the page in total and it has old data. Press the refresh button (ours, not your browsers) and you'll see the right data there.

And yes, please put your bug reports in the feedback forum and not here.
