thanks for the great videos, but:

can you please do a better job with the audio quality, i.e. the loudness, e.g. by using a compressor?

even with the volume turned up to maximum the voices are barely understandable.

thank you,

sepp

edit:

I downloaded the wma version of an interview and surprisingly it appeared to be louder than what i remembered, and in fact perfectly loud enough. Same is true for the wmv.

As it turns out it was the silverlight version that imho is too quiet (on my system).

I had all available volume controls to 100% for comparison, and the SL version appears to be significantly quieter than the other versions mentioned. But maybe I have some SL specific settings wrong, which I don't know where to set.

Sorry for posting without looking into my problem more thoroughly. I will simply consume the wmv version next time which solves my problem.

UPDATE:

Here the silverlight volume slider is at 100% by default, but the actual volume set is noticably lower than 100%.

Touching the slider, its graphical representation does not change, whereas the accociated value changes, i.e. makes it louder than befor.

This is reproducable atleast for http://channel9.msdn.com/posts/mtaulty/Prism--Silverlight-Part-1-Taking-Sketched-Code-Towards-Unity/.

So I believe the C9 SL video player application's initial graphical representation is wrong.

thank you,

sepp

Actually the reverse is often true where the audio is too loud and extremely distorted (ping e.g.) Not something my newly repaired speakers enjoy Sad
