Have been running vista 5219 for a bit now. It started out as a install that i would only use for WPF stuff. However i have been using it as my main desktop machine for a little of 2 week now. However i have been doing some development work in the RC1 VS2005 build via the power of terminal services.
Anyway....i have to say i am loving vista. Only thing which is really taking a bit of getting use to is the massive size of the common diaglogs (e.g. Save File). There is loads of random stuff on their which makes the dialog look pretty but really does not help me.
I am running Vista on a desktop PC which is powerful but does not have LDDM drivers for the graphics card. So i really had not seen any of the nice glass effects. Well after surfing a bit i found a registry hack which turns off the requirement that LDDM drivers are loaded. Thought what the hey and did the hack.
Although my machine now does run a little slower the glass effects are very cool!
Anyway...just thought i would share that!
