Grand Poo-Bah

I just saw that the final release (not beta) of Visual Studio 2005 Professional is available on MSDN subscriber downloads.

Is there a matching WinFX beta?  VS 2005 RTM didn't have one so I've been stuck with VS 2005 Beta2 since....

Congratulations to Microsoft though for releasing SQL Server 2005, Visual Studio 2005, and the .Net Framework 2.0 earlier than expected! (at least to us lucky MSDN subscribers) Big Smile

Will there be a new version of .NET Framework (like 2.5, 3...) as Vista goes to RTM?

There's only matching LINQ so far.

WinFx: I guess inside a month, if I were a gambler I'd say 2 weeks. If it's going to be lined up with next Vista CTP then 2-3 weeks.

I strongly believe they have WinFX already working with the RTM build, they are using the little time remaining to next CTP to do some testing most likely. The 2.0 RTM is very close to identical with the RC that has been around for 2-3 months so they've had plenty of time to make it work with RTM.

edit: Just to confirm my guess above, LH blogs writes "Current internal Windows Vista/WinFX builds work with these final builds.  Once we get this build to a previewable state, we'll ship it out as a CTP.  We realize it is in high demand."
